IPTV used to require a special box. Today an app on a device you already own is often enough.
What is an IPTV box?
A small computer connected to the TV that runs a player. It can be purpose-built or an ordinary Android box.
How it works without a box
- Smart TV: Install a compatible app directly on the TV.
- Phone and tablet: The apps exist for iOS and Android.
- Computer: A web browser or player software.
- Streaming stick: For example Fire TV Stick or Chromecast with Google TV, which makes an older TV smart.
